Northwest hardcore is fucking cool. If you believe that it is not and that hardcore within the pacific northwest is a joke, you are the joke. Talking shit about Rainfest is one thing, but when you have never attended the fest and talk ill of it, you look like an idiot. People within the northwest hardcore community are nice people and the scene that has built here is fantastic. The fact that an all ages venue reopened within 6 months after Viaduct closed is insane. And the coolest part is that it was opened by people who ran the last venue. I get shit talked for not being “a nice person” or for being a dick, and I can’t say its not true. I don’t like many people, but me being “a dick” is me ignoring someones existence at a show because I don’t like them. And to me, that is not a bad thing at all. This is just a rant, but use your head and appreciate what you have around you. And if you are bummed that Rainfest was filled with people with “egos” and that the fest was some form of popularity contest, you must have been at a different fest as I was this past weekend.
Shaq and I don’t really get along and I have never been to Rain Fest but I couldn’t agree more with this post.
And even if there were egos at Rainfest (or any show), why the fuck would you care about anyone except yourself? Be where you wanna be (at shows) because you wanna be there, and do what you wanna do because you want to do it. Think someone is a dick or has a bad attitude? Cool, you don’t have to associate with them but keep it to yourself, because you only dislike them for your own personal reasons which is probably some petty bullshit anyway. Seen lots of dumb negative posts lately so this is just my two cents.
