POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE : THE FUTURE OF IMMUNITY CLOTHING
Today is January 5th. The holiday season is finally dying down and lots of people are focusing on ‘making the new year a better one than the year before’ or their resolutions (mostly dealing with self improvement.) I guess you can say that’s whats been going on here too. The new year brought with it a second wind for me. I’m feeling exceptional (mentally at least, got a bit of a stomach bug earlier this week) and I thought I should share that with everyone.
Immunity Clothing has accomplished a lot in the last year, I’m not going to list the things I think were accomplishments, because that isn’t what matters. What matters is how excited I am for the future of this company. Last year saw lots of new friends, lots of traveling, and a bunch of shared ideas with like minded people in different facets of what I’m doing. Isn’t the music scene incredible?
At this point, you might be wondering what Immunity’s plans for the year are. Well, here goes nothing. After the current stock of Immunity Clothing sells out, I will be taking a few months off to realign myself, my thinking, and this company. Now before you guys jump to comments/twitter/tumblr to ask me if I’m going to stop doing Immunity, let me answer it for you now. NOT A CHANCE IN HELL.
I will be taking the next few months to become a slightly more active clothing company. Not in the touring or putting more merch out to oversaturate kind of way, but in a “If there is something I don’t like, I’m going to change it” way. I’ll be doing more charity shirts, more collaborations with like-minded designers / photographers / ect. I’m going to start being the change I want to see in the world, in the scene, and in myself. There are not enough people / bands / clothing companies who use their ability to actually practice what they preach. I no longer want to be associated with those type of people, and that’s not a shot at anyone, it’s the truth. I am very lucky to be able to do the things I do, why on earth am I going to take advantage of that?
I would also like to take the time to say that Immunity Clothing and Immunity Straight Edge are going to be two separate entities. This is for two reasons, 1.) I don’t want people to think that Immunity Clothing is a straight edge only company and have that keep them from purchasing something that they like / relate to, and 2.) You can be straight edge and positive, but you don’t need to be straight edge to be positive.
So there you have it. It’s going to be such an awesome year for Immunity. Thank you all for you continued support.
